1. The Sun:
The sun shines approximately 1,000 watts per square meter of the planet’s surface on a bright, sunny day. Solar cells can be used to capture this electricity and turn it into renewable energy.
2.Solar Panel:
When the sun light strikes the solar panel embedded into each SunPlug solar charger, a certain portion is absorbed within the semiconductor material. Basically, all that happens is the energy is transferred to the material that makes up the solar panel. Photovoltaic solar cells all have at least one electric field to direct the flow of electrons; this flow is called a current. The current, combined with the cell’s voltage, defines the wattage (power) that a solar cell is capable of producing.
A crystalline solar panel is used in each of our SunPlug chargers because it is the most efficient type of solar cell.
3. SunPlug Devices:
Once the current is created within the crystalline solar panel, our SunPlug chargers can be connected to a variety of different electronic devices. There are two ways to use a SunPlug charger to power another device.
Direct charge transfers electricity directly into the devices that need power. For instance, the SunPlug Car Plug Charger is an example of a direct charge device. This solar charger works just like your car charger but uses direct sunlight. To use, plug you car changer into the adapter just as you would plug it into the cigarette adapter.
The second and more typical type of charge that our solar products use is indirect charge. Here, the solar panel is used to charge the built-in rechargeable battery. Then, the stored energy can be used to charge your electronics.
4. Your Portable Electronics:
Because we offer a variety of different chargers, we are able to accommodate your need to charge many different electronic devices. Cell phones and iPods typically require a six-volts or less to fully charge their battery. Your digital camera probably has a slightly larger battery between five and eight-volts. If you are looking to charge the battery in your video camera, you might require a charger capable of powering an eight-volt battery.
The following list details the charging output of our series of SunPlug chargers:
- Build-It-Up Solar Charger: 5.5V 500mA
- Sunplug Solar Backpack (1 panel): 5.5V 650mAh
- Sunplug Solar Backpack (3 panel): 6V 450mAh
- Sunplug Solar Laptop Bag: DC 3.5-8.4 and 12-20 V (adjustable)
- Mini Solar Charger: 5.5V 500mAh
- Solar Car Plug Charger: 12V, 400mA, 4.8 watt (1 panel: 6V,400mA, 2.4 watt)
Solar Wholesale recommends checking the label on the back of the battery in your electronic device to determine which charger will be most effective.
Each SunPlug Charger, besides the Car Plug Charger that plugs directly into the car charger you already have, comes with a variety of adaptors to allow you to charge most of your devices.
The Solar Wholesale Advantage:
Currently, solar cells, despite their ability to save money on electricity, can be costly. However, an increase in the demand for these products would help prices fall to more affordable levels. Our company wholesales all of our products in order to increase the availability of affordable solar products in the North American market. We hope to help people incorporate solar into their daily lives, increase the demand for these products, and help make solar affordable to everyone.
